AGD Bologna, Association for the Support of Young Diabetics of the Province of Bologna – ODV, is a non-profit volunteer organization made up of children and young people with Type 1 Diabetes and their parents. Support for families in Bologna and its province. Type 1 diabetes (or juvenile diabetes) is a chronic metabolic disease, which has seen a serious and constant increase in cases among pediatric patients (starting from the very first months of life). In 1981, in order to help children affected by juvenile diabetes and support their families in the difficult management of this disease, AGD was established in Bologna, a non-profit volunteer organization that today represents over 600 families living with Type 1 diabetes in Bologna and its province.

AGD Bologna is actively engaged in working with youth and families to raise awareness and educate them about Type 1 diabetes. Our mission is not only to support those affected by this chronic condition but also to promote understanding and knowledge within the community. We organize educational activities, workshops, and events aimed at providing practical guidance on managing diabetes and improving quality of life. In addition, we are committed to supporting research efforts that strive to find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Type 1 diabetes, collaborating with institutions and specialists dedicated to this cause.
